Miyagi Japanese oysters are one of the best oysters in the world. Oysters are sold in shell and frozen, so many diners still don't know how to defrost oysters properly. Let El Flamico show you the super simple process of defrosting oysters.
Information about Miyagi oysters
Miyagi oysters are grown on long ropes in the waters of Sanriku – where the cold sub-Arctic currents of the Oyashi and the Kuroshio Current combine with the winter of the Miyagi. It is this special feature that makes Miyagi oysters have a characteristic sweet taste, richer in nutrients than other regions.
Completely different from regular oysters. Oyster miyagi when eaten raw will bring a special taste, irresistible freshness and instantly conquer your taste buds perfectly.
Let El Flamico "tell" you how to defrost oysters simply and ensure the right taste!!!
- Soak in water for about 10 minutes.
- After the defrosting time, gently pry the meat apart.
- Put the meat in a bowl of ice water to soak for 1-3 minutes, shake gently to restore the state of Oyster meat and reduce the salty taste (this step is very important)
* NOTE : do not use ice on the surface of the thawed oyster, it will cause the oysters to shrivel.
How to enjoy Miyagi Oysters:
With Miyagi oysters, you should eat sashimi to fully enjoy the taste of the sea. After separating oysters, they can be eaten immediately, or they can be briefly steamed for about 3-5 minutes before enjoying. Should not be steamed too carefully will not enjoy the inherent sweetness of Oysters.
Miyagi oysters, when eaten raw, will have a special, fresh taste that perfectly conquers the taste buds. With the typical salty taste of Miyagi Oysters when used with lemon, the acid in the lemon will neutralize and reduce the salinity, bringing the right taste.
Japanese Miyagi oysters, in addition to being eaten raw, can be cooked with more dishes such as: grilled cheese, grilled onion fat, oyster fried rice, oyster porridge ..., still retaining the natural sweet taste. In addition, Miyagi Oysters can be best combined with mustard, Tabasco sauce, and Japanese Sake...
